Dosing unit MC 20

The equipment is designed for the automatic addition of isomerized hop products (down-stream products) such as Iso-, Rho-, Tetra- and Hexa-Extracts as well as hop oils and other brewing additives. The dosing unit allows for the addition of the product at any stage of the brewing process, including prior to or after filtration.

The dosing quantity ranges between 1 to 3 kg per minute (dosing in one hops addition) or 2 to 10 kg per hour (continuous dosing in proportion to quantity).

OPERATION

The product cans or pails are manually opened and emptied into the buffer tank. The product containers can also be placed on the metal grating inside the buffer tank to ensure they are completely emptied.

The capacity of the buffer tank varies according to the brewery's specifications. The tank is equipped with an agitator and a heating jacket, thereby improving the viscosity and homogeneity of the dosing product. In addition, a spray ball is installed into the tank allowing the dosing unit to be connected to the CIP system.

The dosing unit will pump the product directly into the beer line via a mass flow meter which records the exact dosing quantity and feeds this information directly to the brewing control system.

The brewing control system regulates the dosing pump to deliver the set dosing quantity. With the information from the mass flow meter the control system can constantly regulate the dosing quantity (proportionally to the beer flow), allowing for a precise and efficient dosing.
